Washing Powders
Colorants are used here as complementary color to the detergent itself and are important to market a particular brand.
Blue or Violet colorants could boost the effect of the brightener.
Colorants can be used in detergents provided they fulfill the following technical requirements:
- Stable to alkalis
- Stable to sodium perborate and percarbonate
- Very good light fastness
- No staining of textiles in wash baths
Liquid Detergents
Liquid detergents are formulated with surfactants and can contain builder.
They do not contain any perborate.
For colorant selection we recommend carrying out trials in each case and observing local legislation.
